Molteni: 'knowing how is no longer enough'

In 1934 Angelo Molteni started his furniture business in Giussano, Italy. From day one, Molteni's motto was: No, non basta più "saper fare". Just knowing how to make furniture is never enough. Molteni put passion into his work, and that's why his creations were a symbol of quality. Angelo Molteni's passion goes so far that he co-founded the first 'Salone del Mobile in Milan' in 1961. Over the years, Molteni innovates, moves with the times or is sometimes a bit ahead of his time. The collaboration with world-famous designers puts Molteni on the world map of top furniture.

Molteni goes for his own arrangement of space

With the Molteni 505 modular enclosure system, Molenteni is once again innovative. Luca Meda, from whose creativity this design originated, claims: "Simplicity is not enough, only simplicity that stems from tradition is enough". Another scratchy statement that is characteristic of Molteni. Creativity and know-how cannot exist without each other. With the 505 modules, you can decorate your room yourself. You make playful combinations between open compartments, glass doors and sliding doors. You can, for example, fill a complete wall or choose a number of elements such as a TV cabinet. You are completely the designer of your Molteni 505 cupboard.

A Molteni cupboard comes with a Molteni sofa

A Molteni cabinet is a unique piece of design. It comes into its own when complemented by a Molteni sofa. Take, for example, the 'Gregor' sofa by Vincent Van Duysen. The Italian elegance combined with quality materials make this Molteni sofa a real eye-catcher. The wing shaped armrests add an extra cachet to the sofa. It is also a modular system, just like the Molteni 505 wardrobes. This again gives you great freedom of composition and arrangement. You will find a more robust design in the Surf Sofa by Yabo Pushelberg. Canadian top designers George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg go for organic forms and reduce this seating furniture to simple forms and functionality. This furniture, too, is modular and can be set up as you wish. As the third icon in the world of the Molteni sofa we would like to mention the South Kensington sofa by Rodolfo Dordoni. His starting point is that atmosphere and style go hand in hand with a comfortable environment. This classy Molteni sofa couldn't be better described. The round shapes are reminiscent of the 60's of the last century. The materials can easily be called avant-garde. This Molteni sofa is available in two- and three-seater versions. It is an eye-catcher in your living room, but also in reception rooms and catering establishments.
