Zanotta: Your home as a space to live in.

The city is a place to live, a space to live,' says Zanotta. And in doing so, they make a clear distinction between living and inhabiting. In other words: there is a big difference between a house and a home. Zanotta's creations are designed to live in. Zanotta was founded in 1954 in Nova Milanese, Italy. In the 60s and 70s, the label produced numerous iconic Italian designs. In 1983, Zabro, the experimental department of Zanotta, was founded and placed under the direction of Alessandro Mendini, designer and architect. In 1989, the 'Zanotta Edition' was added to the collection. These are pieces of furniture that are handmade and therefore show great creative freedom. The high quality and pure Italian design have remained the trademark of Zanotta since its foundation until today.

Names and designs that remain

Italiaans design is wereldberoemd. Ook de ontwerpers die Zanotta aanspreekt voor hun creaties zijn van wereldklasse. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan Willie Landels met zijn beruchte 'wegwerp'-banken. Of kijk bijvoorbeeld naar de Mezzadro kruk van Achille en Pier Giacomo Castiglioni en de Lariana stoel van Giuseppe Tarragni. Een prachtig ontwerp is de 'Sacco', de zitzak, ontworpen door Piero Gatti , Cesare Paolini en Franco Teodoro. Samen met de 'Blow', de opblaasbare stoel van Jonathan De Pas, Donato D'Urbino, Carla Scolari en Paolo Lomazzi, zijn dit twee iconen uit de Italiaanse meubelgeschiedenis. Zoals u merkt zijn de meeste ontwerpen het resultaat van een samenspraak tussen verschillende topdesigners. We kunnen nog aanvullen met de Lia stoel, de Cetonia ladekast, de Tonietta stoel, Sciangai kapstok en de Animali Domestici meubelserie. Maar daarmee is het rijtje nog lang niet af. Het blijft maar doorgaan bij Zanotta. Het is alsof de inspiratie bij dit label eindeloos is.

In the 60s and 70s of last century Zanotta were already pioneers, but even today this quality brand is still groundbreaking. The latest production technologies are used and as a result they are able to process a wide variety of materials. Zanotta makes shapes and fabrics their own.
