Rolf Benz from Nagold in the Black Forest founded his factory in 1964, which focused primarily on fabric seats. At that time, he already had 13 years' experience as an upholsterer with his uncle. By training, Rolf Benz was indeed also an upholsterer. Rolf Benz's most important philosophy was that his seats should be a place where people come home. Relaxing, stretching one's legs, philosophising, cuddling, having a moment to reflect: these were ideas that inspired Rolf Benz to create solid, comfortable seats.
